Overview of B.Sc. CSIT:

Introduction:
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (B.Sc. CSIT) curriculum closely follows courses practiced in accredited international universities. Students must have completed twelve years of schooling in the science stream or equivalent from any university recognized by Tribhuvan University (TU). The program includes foundation and core Computer Science and Information Technology courses, as well as elective courses to meet the demands of high technology applications development. Students are required to complete 126 credit hours of computer science courses and allied courses.

Objective:
The main objective of the B.Sc. CSIT program is to provide students with intensive knowledge and skills in various areas of computer science and information technology.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

  • Students must have completed twelve years of schooling in the science stream or equivalent.
  • A minimum of second division is required.
  • Students must pass the entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), TU, and comply with all application procedures.

Course Duration:
The course spans eight semesters (four academic years), with a separate semester examination at the end of each semester.

Evaluation and Grading System:
Evaluation is based on a combination of internal and external assessments, with specific weightage for theory and practical components. The grading system includes Distinction, First Division, Second Division, and Pass Division.

Attendance Requirement:
Students must maintain 80 percent attendance in each course separately.

Final Examination:
The Institute of Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University, conducts the final examination at the end of each semester, with specific weightage for theory and practical components.
